Heading out from Los Angeles at roughly eleven in the morning, we caught the 101 higway to start our road trip to San Francisco. The scenery was beautiful. The mountains, farms, ocean, sky...everything was picture perfect. We made a pit stop in Santa Monica, to dine at Patricks Road House Cafe(as recommended by Food Network) where our meals were sufficiently appetizing but nonetheless, nothing that I haven't had before.
We went back to driving, out on the coast, when we entered Malibu. Of course we made another stop, to take photograhs of the ocean and the cliffs. Had to play chicken in traffic to get to the ocean, but it was well worth it. I've noticed that everything in this state is so amazing and beautiful. The water is so clear and blue and the sun literally radiates off it.
Back on the road again.
My mom and her friend, Lynn, were talking about celebrities that live in Malibu, and we came on the subject of Matthew Mccohaughney, and how he lives in a RV park, and just then we parked an RV park. My mom says, "What are the odds that he lives in that park?" So, we pull into the park, and drive to the waterfront, and for some reason my mom knew exactly what his RV looked like. Tiny, shiny, like a bullet, with an American flag hanging, and most likely he'd have a skateboard outside. And what do you know, there's an RV just like that parked. Needless to say, she snapped a few photos, claimed fame to have seen Matt's RV and we peeled outta there.
Fast forward a few hours, fast forward past a few wrong turns and exits and getting lost, fast forward through eating at Quiznos, getting lost some more, and it's near close to the time where the sun sets.
We take an exit to a small town, Pismo Beach, and walk straight onto the beach and start photoshooting the sunset. I can't express enough how beautiful it was, and how nice the weather felt. It was picture perfect. And I wish I could have caught on camera how beautiful it was to the naked eye. It's something you simply have to see first hand to really appreciate.
After we left Pismo Beach I took a four hour nap, and when I awoke we were at our hotel. It's called Tomo, and it's japanese inspired. It's located in Japantown. The room looks awesome and the wall paper is drawn japanese-esque art.
I'm hoping that San Francisco will be just as amazing as Los Angeles was, but I won't hold my breath.
